What is a fiction book?
A book with a story made up from the author's imagination.
Why do we use shelf markers?
so we know where to put a book back on the shelf if we don't want it. It keeps books from getting lost in the library and keeps our shelves clean

Demonstrate the correct way to use a shelf marker.
Student places shelf marker beside the book they want, removes the book while leaving the shelf marker in place, places book back next to the shelf marker or removes the shelf marker to check out the book
If you find a book in the wrong spot, how do you know where it belongs? What should you do with it?
Look at the call number for the book's address, and replace the book where it belongs or set it in the blue box between the computers

Nonfiction section
How can I know what the different shelves in the nonfiction section have books about?
Look at the shelf labels or the books that are on display
If you want a nonfiction book about a topic you are interested in, how could you find that?
Look in Destiny Discover or ask Mrs. Smith

How do you tell if it is a Non- Fiction Book?
The call number will have numbers on the top line, the second line has the author's first 3 letters of their last name.
What is a biography?
A true story written about a person's life by someone else
