What is the difference between Firs Past the Post vs Proportional Representation?

In First Past The Post that must win riding to enter the House of Common. The party that wins highest percentage of the votes wins certain number of seats in the House of Common.

In Proportional Representation system in order to form the government party needs to have more than 50% of total votes, or to make a coalition with the other party, and together have more than 50%.
