What is 4 or 8 hours? It is always up to management to decide if PTO can be taken based on work obligations. There is also a function in ADP where we can black out periods of PTO allowed in case you have a known busy time.

Suggestions for improving Denali are always welcome. Your good-faith suggestions, complaints, and questions will come under this policy.
What is our Open-Door policy? We ask you to first discuss your concerns with your supervisor, following these steps: • Within a week of the occurrence, bring the situation to the attention of your immediate supervisor (or Director of Operations, if you’re not comfortable approaching your immediate supervisor), who will then investigate and provide a solution or explanation. • If the problem persists, you may describe it in writing and present it to Human Resources, who will investigate and provide a solution or explanation. If you need assistance with your complaint, contact Lesa Keller (LKeller@denaliusa.com) in Human Resources. We encourage you to bring the matter to the HR as soon as possible after you believe that your immediate supervisor has failed to resolve it. • If the problem is not resolved, you may present the problem in writing to any of the Vice Presidents, who will attempt to reach a final resolution.

This allows employees to continue their medical, vision, and dental benefits after they have terminated the company as long as they pay the full cost of the premiums.
What is COBRA? The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act. At the time of termination, medical, dental, and vision will end at midnight of the last day of the month. STD, LTD, and Life ends at midnight of the last day worked. We have 60 days from the last day worked to complete and submit a request for benefit continuation that must be accompanied with a payment.

What is Emergency Office Closure. In the event of a company-designated closure, emergency contact information will be used to notify employees who are not at work at the time a decision is made. Employees should use ADP to update their emergency contact information as needed. Managers should call or email their team. Discuss in advance what your team will do in the event of various types of emergencies.

What is bullying? Denali is committed to providing all employees a healthy and safe work environment and any type of bullying will not be tolerated. Bullying behavior can be persistent or occur as a single incident. All employees, customers, and suppliers should be treated with respect at all times. Bullying is any gesture or written, verbal, graphic, or physical act that is reasonably perceived as being dehumanizing, intimidating, hostile, humiliating, threatening, or otherwise likely to evoke fear of physical harm or emotional distress. If you are a witness or a victim of bullying, please advise any Director or above, or the CEO. All incidents will be taken seriously, investigated, and dealt with appropriately. No form of reprisal will apply to any employee who reports an incident.

What is our Lactation and Breastfeeding policy? As part of our family-friendly policies and benefits, Denali supports breastfeeding mothers by accommodating the mother who wishes to express breast milk during her workday when separated from her newborn child. Accommodation for Lactating Mothers For up to one year after the child’s birth, any employee who is breastfeeding her child will be provided reasonable break times to express breast milk for her baby. As needed, Denali will designate a room for this purpose. A small refrigerator will be provided as needed and be reserved for the specific storage of breast milk. Any breast milk stored in a refrigerator provided specifically for breast milk must be labeled with the name of the employee and the date of expressing the breast milk. Any nonconforming products stored in the refrigerator may be disposed of. Employees storing milk in the refrigerator assume all responsibility for the safety of the milk and the risk of harm for any reason, including improper storage, refrigeration and tampering. Nursing mothers wishing to use a designated room must request/reserve the room by contacting office administrator. Additional rules for use of the room and refrigerator storage will be posted in the room as needed. Employees who work offsite or in other locations will be accommodated with a private area as necessary.

When employees are on an approved unpaid absence, they are still required to pay this in advance or write checks to Denali Accounting Department.
What are benefit premiums? If you are on a medical leave, Denali will pay your medical, dental, and vision premiums for up to 90 days of absence. This benefit is available for one leave event only, and will reset after 36 months after the date of return to work following the leave. If the employee terminates before working an additional 3 months after returning from their medical leave, the employee will be expected to reimburse Denali at the full amount of benefits received. Otherwise, the payment will be forgiven over three months of additional employment. Premiums Due: If you have purchased dependent coverage, LTD, Life Insurance, or contribute to an FSA, you will need to make the payments to Denali on a monthly basis during your absence to be received not later than the 10th of the month. STD premiums are waived during an approved absence and will be prorated by the day for amounts due when you leave work and return to work. Medical, Dental, and Vision paid by Denali will be prorated by the day and reconciled on your next paycheck upon your return to work. Payments not received for dependents’ medical, dental, and vision coverage are considered to be a voluntary cancellation of the contract and they will not be eligible for enrollment again until the next benefit contract period, October 1st of each year.

What is our Social Media Policy? In terms of personal social media, please know that anything you do or say may be a reflection on Denali and we ask that you act in a way that is professional and does not violate any other Denali policies. Where no policy or guideline exists, employees should use their professional judgment and take the most prudent action possible. If you identify yourself as an employee of Denali, it must be made clear that you are speaking on your own behalf and not on behalf of the firm. Employees must ensure that social media activity does not interfere with their work or patient time and does not identify or reference Denali employees without express permission from Denali and the client(s).

This voluntary benefit is offered for income replacement when you are unable to work.
What is STD & LTD? Short Term Disability will pay 60% of your income for up to 90 days. Long Term Disability will pay 60% of your income from 91 days to your normal retirement age. Disabilities must be certified by a doctor's approval. Voluntary means, if you want it, you buy it. The reason a company offers this is because of the convenience of payroll deductions and because group rates are typically less than individual rates.

What are job duties? Your supervisor will explain your job responsibilities and the performance standards expected of you From time to time, you may be asked to work on special projects, or to assist with other work necessary or important to the operation of your department or Denali. Your cooperation and assistance in performing such additional work is expected. Denali reserves the right, at any time, with or without notice, to alter or change job responsibilities, reassign or transfer job positions, or assign additional job responsibilities. Denali employees are expected to be available as necessary by Denali management and customers. The hours you are expected to be available (core hours) will be based on business need and will be communicated to you by your immediate supervisor.
