What is this mechanism called
Under The Bumper Intake
Is FRC awesome/fire?
Yes and totally graciously professional
What is our presidents name? (Hint: there's 2)
Simeon & Arshan
You need to design a water bottle that can keep liquids cold for a long time. What materials would you use to achieve this?
Use insulated materials like stainless steel with a vacuum layer between two walls to prevent heat transfer, keeping liquids cold for longer.
What are the benefits of a Swerve Drivetrain?
Provides omnidirectional movement and independent wheel control, allowing for precise maneuvering, field-centric control, and smooth rotation while moving
What does FIRST stand for?
For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology
What theme do we name every robot after every year
Aquatic themed: Neptune, Anchor, Captain Hook, Leviathan
You are designing a robot for a game in which being able to climb or hang from a bar is critical. What kind of mechanism would you design for this task?
A hook and winch system or a telescoping arm with a hook mechanism would be ideal for climbing or hanging tasks.
What type of intake did we use on our robot this year?
(Over or Under)
We used an over the bumper intake, but we specifically attached it to an elavator.
Does FRC have a weight limit and why?
Yes usually about 125 lbs., this is for safety of robots and people during competition and development, and also to provide a unique design challenge for us
In what year did we win the Aerospace Valley Regional?
You are designing a robot for a game in which being quick and being able to change direction easily is essential? what kind of drivetrain do you use?
A swerve drivetrain, its use of multiple motors per wheel allows for omni directional movement
Name one type of elevator that can be used in a game?
(Double the points: What type of elevator do we use?)
multi-stage tube elevators, telescoping elevators, and scissors lifts
How long is the "autonomous" period in an FRC match
15 seconds where the robot operates without driver input.
It can be 30 seconds sometimes too, from previous games.
When was our team established
2007-2008
Your robot’s intake works well in practice, but during matches the rollers keep breaking off after collisions. As the design member, what’s one change you could make to improve reliability?
Reinforcing the intake with stronger materials, adding a protective bumper, or making it modular for quick replacement
This drivetrain uses specially angled wheels with rollers to allow sideways motion, but suffers from reduced pushing power and traction compared to tank or swerve.
Mecanum Drive.
Who founded FIRST?
Dean Kamen
How did our climb work this year?
It didn't.
But in theory it should've latched onto the cage, then pulled back to lift the robot up.
You need to design a robot that can handle multiple game elements like balls and cubes. What type of intake and storage system would you design?
a compliant wheel roller intake with an elevator or indexer of sorts would work
