Leave the closest spaces to the front entrance available for residents and guests. Do not park in the loading dock
How can we help ensure the residents get enough fluids through the day?
Every day, the hydration station should be filled with fresh water and cups.
The dining room is not considered clean until what has been completed?
The tables are sanitized with fresh solution.
If you are cutting oranges or lemons, what are the first two things you should do?
Peel off the sticker and wash the fruit!

We only offer juice at breakfast and not at all other meals. Why?
Drinking juice and prior to a meal creates a feeling of satiety in the resident which can lead to weight loss.
Why should all food items be wrapped and dated prior to being put in the walk in?
It is part of the food code. The fridge vents are dirty and could get dust into the food physically contaminating it.
When plating food, what is key to a good plate presentation? 2 items
There is no food on the rim and the plate is garnished.

How can we prevent breakage with our glasses and dishes?
Be careful, slow down, stack the items according to their dish size, and don't stack the glasses.
Why do the residents in Memory Care eat off of blue plates?
It is challenging for the residents to distinguish between the food and the plate if it is not a colored plate. The residents in memory care and AL can become overwhelmed if too much food is placed in front of them at once.

15 minutes every 4 hours.
When we drop off food at Hannah's spot, Winnie's spot, Ann's spot or any blind resident's spot - how do we identify the items on the plate to them?
By using the clock method. You have meat at 6 o' clock, noodles at 10 o'clock, and veggies at 2 o'clock.
What is the first step when fire alarm goes off?
Listen for location of fire announcement over radio. Insure kitchen is clear of staff and residents. Turn off gas appliances.
Should we be putting ice on the milk when we push it into the dining room?
Yes!!
I speak German and have lived through out Europe. My anxiety makes it difficult to be social.
When you work a holiday, what do you get paid?
You get paid time and a half. If you are a full time employee you get 8 hours of holiday pay in addition to the time and a half. If you call out the shift before or after a holiday, you are not eligible for the 8 hours of holiday pay.
