When and why?
Two years ago, I went to the south of Spain
Hace dos años, fui al sur de España
We went by plane because it was quicker
Fuimos en avión porque fue más rápido
Each day I went to classes

Every afternoon we went to the beach to sunbathe

I tried to speak only in Spanish with the family

During the Easter holidays, I went to a small town where there was a festival

The family were very friendly and welcoming
La familia era muy amable y acogedora
I had to serve food and drink and set the tables
Tenía que servir comida y bebida y poner las mesas
One day we did water sports - it was great!
Un día hicimos deportes acuáticos - ¡fue genial!
I would recommend the experience to other young people
Recomendaría la experiencia a otros jóvenes
Last year, I participated in a school exchange
El año pasado, participé en un intercambio escolar
I felt at home

Every morning I got up at 8:30

I enjoyed trying the local cuisine/typical food of the region

I went to Spain for two weeks to do work experience

I spent the time looking out of the window and reading a book

What I liked about the school was that there was no uniform

I visited all of the places of interest in the surrounding areas

I found it difficult to speak in Spanish all the time

I went to stay with a Spanish family to improve my Spanish

I met new people who were very nice
I saw the job in a newspaper advert
Vi el trabajo en un anuncio de un periódico
We went for a walk round the old quarter
Dimos un paseo por el casco antiguo
If I could, I would return next year
