Why is DNA replication called a "semi-conservative" process?
DNA replication is "semi-conservative" because each new molecule of DNA has one original strand and one newly synthesized strand (it is half conserved, or half saved)
This uses RNA to make a protein molecule.
What is translation?
These special types of proteins help to unzip DNA and match up complementary nucleotide bases during DNA replication and protein synthesis.
What are enzymes?
These two men are credited with figuring out the shape & structure of DNA. They used a photograph taken by a female fellow scientist (+points if you can name the female scientist).
James Watson and Francis Crick (+points for Rosalind Franklin)
Two differences between the STRUCTURE of RNA and DNA.
What is DNA is double stranded and RNA is single stranded? What is RNA has RIbose and DNA has Deoxyribose? What is RNA has the base Uracil and DNA has the base Thymine?
This type of RNA connects the amino acid molecules.
What is tRNA?
