This is the type of sugar found in my nucleotide that makes me.

Deoxyribose

100

This is the type of sugar that is included in my nucleotide unit

Ribose

100

I am in both nucleic acids and I am a part of the backbone along with the sugar

Phosphate group

Where does transcription occur and describe the process.

The RNA copies the DNA code inside the nucleus.  It then leaves the nucleus and travels to a ribosome.

200

I am the nucleic acids you find in DNA

A,T, C, G which are adenine, thymine, guanine, cytosine

200
After I copy DNA, I leave the nucleus through this.

Nuclear Pore

200

Which nucleic acid is smaller and will make their own copy of the nucleic acid sequence?

RNA

200

What is the monomer that makes up proteins?

amino acids

300

RNA replaces my thymine with...

uracil

300

Which RNA takes takes a copied version of DNA's nucleic acid info to the ribosome?

mRNA

300

What are three types of proteins and what are their functions?

Enzymes Structural Signaling Regulatory Sensory

400

My nucleic acid bases are attached by a ______ bond

Hydrogen bond

400

What is the purpose of rRNA?

To create peptide bonds between each amino acid in a polypeptide chain.

400

What is the chain of attached amino acids called? Explain it's significance/ importance.

A polypeptide chain.

500

How do you pronounce my name from beginning to end rather than stating the Acronym?

Deoxyribonucleic Acid

500

Explain what would happen if eukaryotes did not have RNA in their cells.

The genetic information would not be able to get out of the nucleus and the organism would not be able to exist.  RNA is needed to make proteins and that is a biomolecule eukaryotes need to exist.

500

What is the second step of protein synthesis called? Describe it's process including tRNA and how the polypeptide chain is built.

Translation.  The tRNA anticodon reads the mRNA codon at the location of the ribosome.  When the codons match up,the amino acid pops off the tRNA.  the rRNA helps attach each amino acid to each other.  Finally a stop codon finished the polypeptide strand.
