If you're fully vaccinated, do you need to quarantine after travel?
No! On April 2, the CDC revised its Domestic Travel Guidelines during Covid-19. Fully vaccinated travelers do not need to self-quarantine. Fully vaccinated travelers should still follow CDC's recommendations for traveling safely including: Wearing a mask over your nose and mouth, staying 6 ft from others and avoid crows, and wash your hands often or use hand sanitizer.

Do you call your primary care provider to schedule your COVID-9 vaccine?
It depends! Most vaccine appointments are scheduled through government authorized websites or vaccine lines and not directly through doctor offices. In Anchorage, you are able to schedule a covid-19 vaccine by visiting the covidvax.alaska.gov, anchorage.covidvaccine.org and www.vax.nuka.com website. You can also visit the Diamond Center Mall for a walk-in Covid-19 vaccine. Vaccines can be scheduled with the patients provider only if they are a listed provider, but in most cases it's the specialty clinics that offer the vaccine scheduling, like the Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Clinic. Overall, very few primaries offer it though.

What are the safety gathering guideline for people who are fully vaccinated?
1) You can gather indoors with fully vaccinated people without wearing a mask or staying 6 feet apart.
2) You can gather indoors with unvaccinated people of any age from one other household (for example, visiting with relatives who all live together) without masks or staying 6 feet apart, unless any of those people or anyone they live with has an increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19.
3) According to the CDC, you should still continue to practice safety precautions guidelines for COVID-19 when you're in public, gathering or visiting unvaccinated people. You should still avoid medium or large-sized gatherings.

Why is SARs-CoV-2 causing high fatality rate?
SARs-CoV-2 is a virus that has never been seen in humans, so absolutely no one is immune to it. That added to the fact that the COVID-19 virus is found in the upper airway — including the mouth and nose — the infection can be spread through coughs, sneezes, huffing and puffing, and likely even loud talking, according to Forthal. Moreover, we are learning that infected people are unknowingly spreading the virus days before they begin to experience symptoms. Some may not experience symptoms at all.

What is the difference between fully vaccinated travelers: domestic and international?
Domestic travelers do not need to test before/after, do not need to quarantine. Internationally travelings need to get tested 1-3 days before traveling out of US and quarantine for after travel for 7days with negative test or 10 days w/o test.

True. Since it contains important medical information (i.e. name, DOB, address, medical conditions), DOUBLE CHECK you are verifying the information after you type it! Especially since we are entering this into a charting database, it then becomes a legal medical document. Takeaway: double check the data you are entering!!!!

The CDC advises both doses are necessary to protect you from COVID-19. It has not been studied whether a single dose will provide you with enough protection.
