You must APPROPRIATELY use your scrap paper to work math problems and organize ideas for writing.

There is a multi-part open response. I am overwhelmed by all the information. What should I do?

Start with one part at a time. Use the line reader to cover up parts I haven't got to yet so I'm not distracted/overwhelmed. If I can't use the line reader, Use my paper to cover up the rest until I need it.

What kind of things can Ms. Bahr help you with on the SBAC?

She can read you words you don't know (but cannot define them or tell you what they mean). She can read you directions. She can help you if a tool isn't working (but cannot use it for you or show you how).

Re-read it! Draw it out! Highlight key words! Try to re-word it in your own words! Look for key words you recognize!

Go back and check your work. Re-read your answers. Add more to your open response.

Solve the multiple choice options until I find the best fit for my answer.

- Drawing diagrams from the screen so I can label or manipulate them

- Doing out math work that shouldn't be done in my head

- Double-checking my work

- Drawing math-related pictures to help me understand a question (fraction circles, shapes, people and objects for word problems)

-Making an outline of ideas for my writing
