  • Class A fires are ordinary materials like burning paper, cardboard, plastics, fabrics etc. The use of Dry Powder is preferred, unless in an environment with a lot of electrical equipment. Then the use of CO2 is preferred. 

  • Class B fires involve flammable or combustible liquids such as oils, gasoline, and kerosene. The use of Foam is preferred.

  • Class C Fires involve flammable gases such as propane, butane, and methane. The use of Dry Powder is preferred.

  • Class D Fires involving flammable metals. The use of (specialist) Dry Powder is preferred.

  • Class F fires involve fats found in cooking oil or grease. The use of a Wet Chemical extinguisher is preferred.
