What is fluconazole?
iodine based drug, patients may experience hypo- or hyperthyroidism. thyroid function tests may be altered
What is iodoquinol (Yodoxin)?
is not prescribed to infants or young children because they are unable to report visual changes
What is Ethambutol?
associated with numerous adverse reactions, and to prevent them patient's are premedicated with antihistamines, antipyretics, corticosteroids, and opiates
What is amphotericin B?
given in areas where the malaria organism is resistant to chloroquine
What is atovaquine/proguanil (Malarone)?
give vitamin B6 with this drug

can cause liver toxicity and numbness and tingling of the hands and feet (paresthesia)
