We should calmly remind the client that we find out in the morning when we work. We should not give a specific day or time. The schedule may change.

They are locked up under the sink in the lunchroom.

We use our Safety Plans when we need to calm or center ourselves immediately.

What does "Keep Eyes" mean?
Keeping eyes is when you physically position yourself to see the group or groups you are watching. We cannot keep eyes from across the program area. We always need to be able to react to a possible crisis.
Should the clients go into the kitchen alone for lunch and break?
No, staff should talk to each other to decide who will walk immediately with the clients to the lunchroom and who will walk with the slower clients. Clients should not be in the lunchroom unsupervised.
Where do the DCS (Daily Count Sheets) go after the work is completed?
In the Production Manager's mailbox. It is important that all DCS get turned in, this is how the clients get paid.
What is a Self-Care Plan used for?
We use our Self-Care plans all the time. It is made up of the things we do to take care of ourselves. Like, exercise, social groups, religion, reading, hobbies, spending time or talking to friends and family.
They should be updated as needed.
When a client is having a difficult time, what could we refer them to do?
Focus on them selves, by asking "Are you focusing on yourself?"
Use their Safety Plan, by asking "Do you need your Safety Plan?" or "Where is your Safety Plan?"
If going to your car, which doors should you use?
We should go out either the door by the dock room or the door next to the garage door. We should not be entering and exiting through the glass doors by the Community group area.
Why is it important for staff to be good role models?
We are setting examples for the clients, it would be unfair to do things we are asking the clients not to do. We are supposed to be helping them develop skills to be successful in a job.
What do you do if a client refuses work?
You should talk to the client to see why they do not want to work. They should be marked as refused on the Daily Count Sheets.
