Type of Dua
This is the most appropriate dua to make, when we forget something or make a mistake
What is
رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِن نَّسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا ۚ
Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred [2:286]
These are the Duas Prophet Ibraheem made as he was raising the foundation of Qaba with his son Ismael
رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ ﴿١٢٧﴾ رَبَّنَا وَاجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِنَا أُمَّةً مُّسْلِمَةً لَّكَ وَأَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ
What are verse 127 and 128 of Sura Baqara?
He says
رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي فِي ذُرِّيَّتِي ۖ إِنِّي تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِنِّي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
Who is 'people at the age of 40?
This Dua is considered simple but most comprehensive dua
What is رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
[2:201]
This Dua is asking for "forgiveness of our sins and the excess [committed] in our affairs and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people"
What is
رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِي أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ
[3:147]
This is the most appropriate dua to make asking Allah not to lay upon a burden we cannot bear
What is
رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ
Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. [2:286]
She made this Dua
رَبِّ ابْنِ لِي عِندَكَ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَنَجِّنِي مِن فِرْعَوْنَ وَعَمَلِهِ وَنَجِّنِي مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
Who is Asiyah wife of Firaun?
This is a Dua asking for Allah's mercy on our parents
What is
رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
[17:24]
This Dua is most appropriate to make when we see the wonders around us in nature (reflecting on the creation of heavens and the earth)
What is
رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَـٰذَا بَاطِلًا سُبْحَانَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
[3:191]
Prophet Muhammad (S) made thus Dua asking for protection from Sayatin
رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ ﴿٩٧﴾ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحْضُرُونِ
[23:97-98]
This is the Dua the people of Talut made when the saw the huge army of Goliath
What is رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

They made this dua, when they were threatened (with torture, death) for proclaiming their belief in the signs of their Lord
رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ
Who are the magicians of Firaun?
This Dua is asking to be establisher of Salah for oneself and his descendents
What is
رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِي ۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ
This is a Qur'anic Dua that beautifully points to a promise of Allah and ends with
إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ [ Indeed, You do not fail in [Your] promise."]

This is the dua most appropriate for asking not to be deviated after getting the guidance
What is
رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْوَهَّابُ
Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower. [3:8]
This is the Dua Nuh (AS) made in imploring his people to embark on the ship
What is
بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ مَجْرَاهَا وَمُرْسَاهَا ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
This Dua is asking forgiveness for oneself, his/her parents and the believers
What is
رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ
This Dua is asking so that we don't become the objects of trial for the wrongdoing people. The context was Musa (AS)' s people making this dua against the fitnah created by Firaun
What is
رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةً لِّلْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ [10:85]
This is a Dua Ibraheem AS made expressing full tawaqqul on Allah
What is
رَّبَّنَا عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ
[60:4]
This is the Dua where a believer is asking forgiveness of sins and protection from punishment of fire
What is
رَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire [3:16]
This prophet while being victimized by the palace plots said the following
رَبِّ السِّجْنُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِمَّا يَدْعُونَنِي إِلَيْهِ ۖ وَإِلَّا تَصْرِفْ عَنِّي كَيْدَهُنَّ أَصْبُ إِلَيْهِنَّ وَأَكُن مِّنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ
Who is Yusuf (AS)?
This is a dua for a happy eye-comforting family
What is
رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
They made this Dua for correct guidance in all affairs
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا
Who are the Youths of Kahaf?
This Dua' is addressing Allah with His names السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
َبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ [2:127]
Ayub (AS) made this Dua when he was afflicted with disease
The man of the fish made this Dua in the darkness of the tummy of the fish
what is لَّا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
[21:87]
This prophet made the following Dua for good offspring
رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً ۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ [3:38]
Who is Zakariyah AS?
Prophet Muhammad (S) was instructed to say this Dua in order not to rush wuth the Quran
What is
رَّبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
This Dua of him helped him getting the power who Allah hasnot given to anyone after him
رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَهَبْ لِي مُلْكًا لَّا يَنبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ مِّن بَعْدِي ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْوَهَّابُ
