Emergency Procedures
What are the procedures we recommend to be followed if a camper has an accident or health emergency?
Assistants should inform their Head Coach
Need to assess the accident scene. Is it safe?
Check for noticeable signs of an injury
If the injured camper registers a complaint involving his/her head, neck, back, the camper should NOT be moved.
You should never leave an injured camper unattended.
The Head Coach should call 911 if required
You should always focus on the needs of the injured camper. Keep the camper calm and perfectly still. All other campers should be moved to another area away from the injured camper and should be kept calm and engaged by co-counselors.
