No can do! Have your friend that is the resident also come here so I can let you both in!

Remain Calm, Stay in your room, Call HD on duty, call DPSS. Wait for further instruction.
How would you respond to a resident’s family member who calls the duty phone asking if you can check on the resident?
Advise family to call DPSS and ask for a wellness check. Do not confirm if the resident lives here or if you have seen them recently. You as a ResStaff member will never do a wellness check.

Knock... or you just stumble upon it. Introduce yourself, ask them to pour things out, collect info & IDs, call DPSS or another RA for back up, write a IR.

How would you respond to a resident who said they felt lonely, like they didn’t belong, and said they don’t think they should be here much longer?
Introduce yourself & specifically ask what they mean by should not be here much longer? Tell them you are a mandatory reporter, Call DPSS, call HDOD.
Who do you contact if you want to switch a duty date?
Find coverage first, then contact the RSC

Tell them hey, I'm NAME and I am a RA. Unfortunately, at this time, my room in board & the saftey of you and our community is worth more to me than secret keeping. For those reasons, I need to call DPSS and will be documenting this incident.
