(You can wear gym shorts and an appropriate T-shirt for class...the requirements will be discussed on the first day you have phys. ed. class)

What are the five major subjects?
In order to join this, you must be a 7th or 8th grader.
What is drama club?
10-15 minutes per night per subject
What is the recommended time to devote each night to school?
(The 10-15 minutes per night per subject includes doing written work, reviewing notes and chapters, and study time. Students who follow this recommendation are very successful.)
You are required to shower after physical education class.
What is fiction?
(If you want to take a shower, you are welcome to do so.)

What is two minutes?
(Although it doesn't sound like much time, it is adequate time to get around our one-floor school. In the beginning of the year when you are finding classes, teachers will understand if you are running late for class. If you need assistance figuring out the best way to get from class to class, please see your counselor).

What is Family and Consumer Science?
Some examples include: band, jazz band, chorus, student council, newspaper, yearbook, art talent, drama, weightlifting, show choir, and lap swimming.
What are 9th period activities? OR What are middle school clubs?
Spanish class is available to this grade.
What is 8th grade?
(Students will either have Reading or Spanish in 8th grade which is based on middle school reading performance, to include TDA's.)
Swimming is required as part of physical education class.
What is fact?
(Swimming is a unit as a part of class. Typically, students swim for several weeks twice during the school year- late fall and early spring.)
These students ride the bus to and from school together everyday.
What is 6th graders through 12th graders?
In 6th grade, physical education, guidance, and library make this up...In 7th & 8th grade, physical education, skills class, library, and health make this up.
What is a four-day rotation class?
(In 6th grade, each day you will have a four-day rotation class. For example: Day 1= physical education, Day 2= guidance, Day 3=physical education, Day 4= library. You will have phys.ed. twice in the four day rotation).
Although high school requires this to be clear or mesh, middle school does not have a requirement for this item.
What is a book bag?
(Please note that students can choose any type of book bag and gym bag, however, they will not carry a book bag around during the school day and gym bags will only be carried in the afternoon on the days the student has phys. ed. class. Bags remain in lockers during the day.)
This 9th period activity assists students who are struggling academically.
What is peer tutoring?
(In November of each school year, teachers recommend students who could be tutors to other students who may be struggling academically. A student who wishes to have a peer tutor must request a tutor at the guidance office and a counselor will set it up).
A student can decide if he/she will take physical education class on a given day.
What is fiction?
(If a student is unable to participate due to medical reasons, a note from a parent/physician is required. Students will get more information regarding this on the first day of class.)

What is the total number of students who will be 6th graders for the 2020-2021 school year?

What is a nine-week rotation class? OR What is a marking period rotation class?
(You will have one of the four classes- art, music, family & consumer science, or tech. ed. for a marking period. For example, if you have art in MP 1, you will not have art again until you are in 7th grade).
This person will create your middle school and high school schedule, follow your academics, help you with problems, assist with your future career plans, and be a resource for you if you have any questions.

What is Eagle Express?

Sixth graders have physical education class more often than 7th and 8th graders.
What is fact?
(6th graders have physical education class every other day- 2 days out of a 4-day rotation while 7th and 8th graders have phys. ed. 1 day out of a 4 day rotation because they have a health course as well).

In this class, you will learn about engineering processes, problem solving, and using technology to solve problems.
What is technology education?
A special group was created two years ago for students to meet students from other grades (6-8) and spend quality time with a BMMS faculty member monthly to play games, do art projects, watch movies, chat, and hang out.
