1) The early Roman Republic significantly changed over time by becoming more democratic as the plebeian class gradually gained political power and achieved the right to hold public office. 

2)The Senate was initially dominated by the aristocratic patrician class.  This shift occurred due to the "Conflict of Orders" where plebeians fought for greater representation and rights within the government.
