What is Atmosphere?
Atmosphere is the layers of gasses that surround the Earth, which stays in place by gravity.
What energy do you think the "M" in the M.E.L.T.S acronym stands for? How does this relate to climate change?
The "M" in the acronym stands for Mechanical Energy. Mechanical Energy connects to climate change because using cars, machines, and factories which produce greenhouse gasses and go in the atmosphere. Because they are in the atmosphere and the sun's heat makes Climate Change.
What is the climate factor that makes ocean changes happen?
A. Temperature Rise B. Land-Ice Melt C. Sea Level Rise D. Population Growth E. Greenhouse gasses
What is Temperature Rise?
How does greenhouse gasses cause Climate Change?
They cause climate change because when the greenhouse gasses get in the air they get trapped in the atmosphere. With the gasses in the atmosphere the atmosphere gets heated, and when it gets heated Climate Change happens. The more energy from using MELTS makes more greenhouse gasses emitted into the air, meaning more heat gets trapped, and it gets warmer and warmer.
What is Climate Change?
Climate change is a change in the world's weather over a long period of time, and the world gets warmer.
What energy do you think the "E" in M.E.L.T.S acronym stands for? How does this relate to climate change?
The "E" in M.E.L.T.S stands for Electrical energy. Electrical Energy is connected to climate change because using charging cars, machines, and electronic devices emit greenhouse gasses. With those gasses in the atmosphere Climate Change happens.
What is the climate factor that makes floods happen?
A. Temperature Rise B. Land-Ice Melt C. Sea Level Rise D. Population Growth E. Greenhouse gasses
What is Land Ice Melt?
How much percentage of CO2 from fossil fuels and industrial processes do you think is getting emitted/released?
What is 65%? Remember the pie chart?
What is Fossil Fuels?
Fossil fuels are natural energy sources which are dug up just like fossils.
What energy do you think the "L" in the M.E.L.T.S acronym means? How does this relate to climate change?
The "L" in M.E.L.T.S stands for Light Energy. Light Energy connects to Climate Change because we use Light as an everyday use. When using Light it helps release greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere which makes Climate Change happen.
What is the climate factor that happens because of ice caps melting?
A. Temperature Rise B. Land-Ice Melt C. Sea Level Rise D. Population Growth E. Greenhouse gasses
What is Sea Level Rise?
How is Population Growth connected to Energy?
Population growth is connected to Energy because More humans means more demand and use of energy. With the more use of energy, more greenhouse gasses are being emitted into the atmosphere and causing Climate Change.
What is Emissions?
Emissions are gasses (Carbon Dioxide and Methane) that are getting released into the atmosphere.
What energy do you think the "T" in the M.E.L.T.S acronym means? How does this relate to climate change?
The "T" in M.E.L.T.S stands for Thermal Energy. This relates to Climate Change because the heating of the atmosphere on the greenhouse gasses cause Climate Change to happen. And the thermal energy is the part of it heating the atmosphere.
What is the climate factor that makes the atmosphere more polluted?
A. Temperature Rise B. Land-Ice Melt C. Sea Level Rise D. Population Growth E. Greenhouse gasses
What is Population Growth?
What was the Earth graph from the slideshow showing?
What is the greenhouse effect?
What is M.E.L.T.S?
M.E.L.T.S is an acronym which stands for Mechanical, Electrical, Light, Thermal, and Sound Energy.
What energy do you think the "S" in the M.E.L.T.S acronym means? How does this relate to climate change?
The "S" in M.E.L.T.S stands for Sound Energy. This relates to Climate change because of Population growth. More people are demanding/using more of the sound energy. And the sound energy being used created more greenhouse gasses to be emitted, and cause Climate Change.
What is the climate factor that is in the air making it polluted?
A. Temperature Rise B. Land-Ice Melt C. Sea Level Rise D. Population Growth E. Greenhouse gasses
What is greenhouse gases?
What does too much greenhouse gasses lead to?
What is Climate Change?
