What makes up clouds? What sphere?

Water vapor as it condenses- Hydrosphere.

100

These three things create the rain shadow effect

What is the mountain, wind and water vapor?

100

What is one way to physically change water?

Heat it to evaporate

Cool it to condense/ freeze

200

This main cause of water shortage is effected when people misplace waste

Pollution

200

When fires burn down large areas of the biosphere - What other sphere is most likely to be effected?

The Atmosphere/ The geosphere.

200

The rain shadow effect in East Ferris effects vegetation in this way.

There is less or unhealthy vegetation due to lack of rain fall.

200

What happens to molecules when they are heated?

The process of evaporation - they spread out.

300

This term refers to a material  that can be renewable and nonrenewable or limited and unlimited and is valuable to humans.

300

Which of spheres of the Earth system are interacting when Florida’s orange trees grow?

biosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere

300

When moist air forced to rise over a mountain range, which side experiences precipitation.

What is the windward side ?

300

This process is when a gas molecules are  cooled

What is called condensation

400

A characteristic of matter that can be detected by your senses.

What is a property?

400

Amber is walking down the sidewalk & the wind is blowing her hair. Which parts of the Earth system are interacting?

atmosphere & biosphere

400

Which of these weather patterns is likely to be found in a rain shadow area? Heavy rainfall, Dry conditions, Frequent thunderstorms.

Dry conditions

Your mom is cooking soup. She puts in 1 cup of noodles, 1 can of mixed vegetables, 1 lb of chicken, and 1 box of chicken broth. After cooking for 1 hour with the lid on the pot doesn't look as full. Explain what happened.

Matter can't be created of destroyed. Since the lid was on the pot water vapor couldn't all escape but the chicken broth evaporated and condensed on the lid, the soup absorbed some of the water.
500

What is invisible water that contributes to the humidity in the air?

water vapor

500

Landry is at the beach watching the waves. Which of these parts of the Earth system interacts with the hydrosphere to produce the waves at the beach?

atmosphere

You have an ice cube, and you leave it outside on a sunny day. Describe what happens to the ice cube as it melts and then evaporates. What changes of state are taking place?
