We all know that each country / culture has a designated Santa (AKA Genie) to deliver its Christmas presents. How does the Easter system work?
The "Easter Bunny" is actually an organization of egg-delivering rodents (typically Hares) and the occasional industrious hen. In a fashion very similar to Hallobetween*, each egg distributor has a district of homes it delivers eggs to. This system is subject to gerrymandering.
(*There are drastically fewer Hallowbetween Representatives than egg distributors, as there is less funding and awareness of the scarier holiday. For example, you could have as many as a thousand easter hares in Huntsville alone; however, we only have one Mr Hallobetween for all of North Alabama and the Tennessee valley).

Eggs used to be a food that was forbidden to eat during Lent, the season immediately before Easter. Eggs were hard boiled as a preservation technique, and then handed out at the end of Lent as a symbol of the ressurection of Christ breaking out of the tomb (the eggshell!) (But also for convenience because they had a toooon of eggs they had to do something w all those eggs)
What was first, the chicken or the egg?
According to the bible, the chicken came first. Genesis 1:20-22: So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.”
