A group of the same species in a given area.
What is a population?
Vocab word for living things in the environment.
What is biotic?
Any close relationship between species.
What is a symbiotic relationship?
It is something that flows through an ecosystem, but in only one direction. It is never recycled!
What is energy?
It is the type of organism that makes it's own food
What is an autotroph or producer?
A group of different species in a given area.
What is a community?
Sunlight, water, Carbon Dioxide, pH, and rocks/minerals are examples of these non living things in the environment.
What is abiotic factors?
It is the relationship with a clown fish that lives among sea annenomes to get protection from other fish, and the sea annenomes get the scraps as the clown fish eats.
What is mutualism?
It is the type of organism found on the bottom of the energy pyramid.
What are producers?
It is the type of organism that doesn't make it's own food.
What is a heterotroph?
A geographical area that has all the same type of rainfall and temperature.
What is a Biome?
Any factor that can prevent the increase in population of living things.
What is a limiting factor?
It is the type of relationship between a barnacle that attaches to a whale to get the most efficient way to filter feed, and the whale is not affected by the barnacles.
What is commensalism?
It is the type of organism at the top of the energy pyramid.
It is the type of organism that breaks down organic matter such as dead plants and animals.
What are detrivores or decomposers?
An area where living things and non living things are interacting. Example: Pond water, bugs, fish, algae, sunlight, submergent vegetation, plants.

It is the relationship of athletes foot, which is a fungus growing on the human skin.

It is the reason why the energy amounts at each trophic level decreases.
