A role that an organism preforms in its community.
What is a niche?
A plant that makes it's own food from the energy from the sun.
What is a producer?
According to the food web, where does the owl get its energy from?
Mice & grasshoppers.
Individual living things.
What does a niche include?
What it eats, it's habitat, what it needs to live.
An animal that gets its energy from eating other plants or animals.
What is a consumer?
According to the food web, where do the mice get its energy from?
Grains
Examples of these include water, sunlight, soil, or rocks.

What can cause an organism's niche to change?
A change in their lifecycle.
An organism that gets it's energy by breaking down other dead organisms, which returns energy to the earth.
What is a decomposer?
Where does the grass get its energy from?
The sun
A place where an organism naturally lives.
What is a habitat?
Explain how a butterflies niche changes.
It goes from being a caterpillar to a butterfly. It's habitat and food changes.
Give 2 examples of a decomposer.
Fungi, mushrooms, bacteria, worms.
What would happen to the mouse population if the owl population decreased?
The mouse population would increase.
