What should I wear to the church on the day of my baptism?
When a stake baptism held?
Usually the first Saturday morning of every month
Who can I choose to give talks and prayers at my baptism?
Your siblings, parents, primary teacher, grandparents, other relatives or a special neighbor
When should I schedule an interview with my Bishop prior to baptism?
2 or 3 weeks before your baptism
Who should I choose as witnesses at my baptism?
Witnesses can be any two baptized worthy member of the church approved by the bishop!
What time will my baptism be held?
Sometime between 9:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M.
How long should my baptism be?
"Baptismal services should be simple, brief, and spiritual." About 40-45 minutes long
What if I can't swim and I'm nervous about being baptized?
You don't need to be able to swim to be baptized! You can practice with a priesthood holder about how to hold their arms and pinch your nose while being baptized. If you are still nervous, you could ask a priesthood holder about getting a blessing. Also, don't forget to pray that you can be calmed. Heavenly Father loves you!
How early should I arrive at the stake center before my baptism
15 minutes early
Will I be sharingy baptism time with other children on the stake?
No. Every child in the stake will have an individual time for a baptism.
Who is in charge of the printed program for my baptism?
Your family, if you choose to have one.
When should i take pictures on my baptism day?
Before the baptism or after the baptism or both! Pictures should not be taken during the baptism.
What should I do on the morning of my baptism?
Get ready early and help your family to arrive early. Don't forget to pray before you leave the house!
Can I be baptized with a friend from my church class or the stake?
Yes! Shared baptisms can be really fun and memorable!
Should I bring refreshments to the church?
Refreshments eaten at the church aren't encouraged, but you can invite your group back to your home for a party!
Is there a place in the Come Follow Me Manual that gives me and my parents tips on how to prepare for baptism and confirmation?
Yes!
What if someone I love can't make it to my baptism. Can I broadcast my baptism?
Talk to your bishop to authorize a stream. The stream should not be public. The baptism should not be recorded for future viewing. Streams must be deleted within 1 day (Handbook Section 38.2.3)
