The A in ABCD stands for
What is audience?
Getting the students interested in the subject to be taught
What is a hook?
A list of everything needed for the lesson
What are materials and resources?
Provide verbal or written texts about the subject that can be answered by recalling the information the student has learned
What is remembering?
Information on performance written in the affirmative
What is positive?
Action verb that represents the behavior that is desired
What is behavior?
Relate to the students lives or a previous lesson
What is a link?
An opening activity or question to capture students' attention, activate prior knowledge, or introduce the topic
What is an introduction?
Ask questions that the student can answer in his/her own words by stating facts or by identifying the main idea
What is understanding?
Acknowledges performance but conveys NO detailed information
What is general?
Tells how you want learners to perform the behaviors using learning materials and environments
What is the condition?
How fast/slow the lesson proceeds
What is pacing?
A clear statement of what students will learn and do during the lesson
What is an objective?
Provide opportunities for the student to use ideas, theories, or problem-solving techniques and apply them to new situations
What is applying?
The target of feedback is directed to one person
What is individual?
Degree of accuracy that deals with numbers
What is quantitative?
Movement of one part of the lesson to the next
What are transitions?
Challenging, open-ended questions, encourage discussion and require an explanation
What is an essential question (EQ)?
Require students to explain why they chose a certain problem-solving technique and why the solution worked

Information on what to do or not to do on future tasks

Degree of accuracy that asks what quality are you looking for

Allows for the teacher to do a final check for understanding and forecasts what’s coming in the next lesson
