What is 3?
This will be checked at the beginning of class. Excused forms of this include: documented illness, deaths in the family and other documented crises, call to active military duty or jury duty, religious holy days, and official York College sponsored activities. They will be accommodated in a way that does not arbitrarily penalize students who have a valid excuse. Consideration will also be given to students whose dependent children experience serious illness.
What is attendance?
The purpose of this activity is to allow students to experience the educational process and environment in an actual school setting.
What is field experience?
Activities will occur frequently during our class time and many of these activities will be collected/submitted and graded. This is the location you must be to receive points for the assignments because make-ups are not allowed.
What is in-class?
The number of hours you are required to do field experience in this course.
What is 10 hours?
An example of an activity that can be distracting to other students and the overall instructional environment.

What is an F?
The web portal where most of the course resources and content can be found, where most assignments will be submitted, and can be accessed with a YCP email account.
What is Moodle?
The minimum penalty and possible grade that a student will receive if they violate the Honor Code regarding completion of field experience hours and in any assignment, test, quiz, etc...
What is a minimal penalty of a zero and may receive an F.
Which edition of the textbook is required for this course?
None - we are not required to purchase a textbook.
If you know you are going to be absent from class, please do this if possible.
What is notify the instructor?
Turning in someone else's work as your own, copying words or ideas from someone else without giving credit, failing to put a quotation in quotation marks, giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation, changing words but copying the sentence structure of a source without giving credit, copying so many words or ideas from a source that it makes up the majority of your work, whether you give credit or not (see our section on "fair use" rules).
What is plagiarism?
This is the person that will be in contact with your cooperating teachers and will be visiting field experience locations to ensure that these standards are being met as well as to address any issues that may arise.

Unless prior approval has been given, this is the grade a student will receive if they turn in an assignment late.
What is a zero?
These assignments must be turned in typed, double-spaced, twelve-point Times New Roman font with one-inch margins on all sides. They should also be proofread and free from grammatical and spelling errors. Papers that do not comply with this format or that contain numerous errors will lose points accordingly.

Missing more than this many minutes (including late arrival/early departure) of a class, at any time during the class, will count as 1/2 day's absence unless prior arrangements have been made with the instructor.
