What is an informational text?
A nonfiction text that is used to inform the reader about a specific topic.
You can’t figure out the answer to a question on the test. You’ve already thought about it for 5 minutes and still can’t decide on an answer. What should you do?
Mark it and come back to it after you finish the rest of the test
What do you do when the doorbell is rang?
Stop talking, pause what we're doing, and look at Ms. Alexander.
Can you eat in the classroom?
NO! The only exception is if you get a Snack Pass from Ms. Alexander as a prize.
How should students behave in the hallway?
Students walk quietly, quickly, and respectfully to their next class.
What does it mean to summarize?
To retell the central idea and most important details from the text.
