What is nonfiction?
A text that includes how two or more things are the same and/or how two or more things are different.
What is compare and contrast?
Words that describe what kind of character he or she is in the inside. These are internal traits.
What are character traits?
A strategy where you use paper and pencil.
What is taking notes?
Key details that go with the main idea.
What are supporting details?
A text that has lines, stanzas, and sometimes rhyming words.
What is a poem?
A text that includes the order of events using words such as first, then, last or finally.
What is sequence?
Answers and information found directly in the story.
What is text evidence?
A tool that is used to find important details.
What is a highlighter?
Retelling the most important events in a story.
What is a summary?
A text that is fiction but can happen in real life.
What is realistic fiction?
A text that describes a topic and gives a lot of details.
What is description?
Words that go beyond their literal meaning.
What is figurative language?
A strategy that helps you find the strongest answer out of all four choices.

How authors organize and present information in a text.
What is text structure?
A nonfiction book about a person and their life.
What is a biography?
A relationship in which one event leads to another event as a result.
What is cause and effect?
Words that give signals or a hint what a vocabulary word means.
