What is a theme of a story?
A moral or lesson the characters learn that can also be used in everyday life.
What is figurative language?
words or phrases used by authors to make the word more colorful, interesting, and exciting. They often have deeper meanings and emotional impact.
What is a central idea?
The main idea, the author's central message, or claim that the story was written to express.
What is point of view?
Who is telling the story. 1st person or 3rd person point of view.

An outside narrator is telling the story. They are a person looking at the story and describing it. They are NOT a character experiencing the events and challenges.
