In this role you will count ballots each time a new packet is opened and issue ballots to voters.
Ballot Officer
A malfunction causes the DS200 ballot scanner to temporarily stop working and the precinct is busy. Where do voters put their ballots?
The emergency slot or bin.
A voter enters the polling place wearing a shirt, hat and button with the name of the candidate they are supporting. What do you do?
Nothing. It is not prohibited.
You ask a voter for his name and residence address and he hands you a slip of paper with it written on it. Is this acceptable?

Every hour.
Job duties of this role include reminding voters to have their ID ready and watching for curbside voters.
Greeter
A sight impaired voter needs a ballot with larger print or perhaps an audio version of the ballot. What is the name of the machine that allows for this?

A voter is taking a selfie with his ballot at the voting booth. Do you ask him to stop?
No. As long as he isn’t holding up the line or attempting to influence others.
If the voter does not have an acceptable ID, what is the name of the form he can complete in order to vote a regular ballot?

Spoiled Ballot
A WVVA news crew stops by and asks to shoot some footage of the precinct and interview a voter. Is this allowed?
Yes.
As long as they do not film the voter’s ballot and the voter does not object to being interviewed. The interview must take place outside the polling place.

A signed authorization letter from the chair of the party he is representing. (Must also be a VA voter)

FALSE! Use the time on your cell phone to close by. The DS200 time is typically fast.
This officer is responsible for making sure the polls open and close on time and that all ballots are accounted for at the end of the day.
Chief Officer
This is a ballot whose purpose is to prevent voters from being turned away on Election Day without voting and allows for more time to determine if they are eligible to vote.
Provisional ballot
A visually impaired voter comes in and brings her 15-year-old niece from TN to assist her. What form should you have them complete (if any)?
Have them complete a Request for Assistance form.
When checking in a voter you see that they have a status of “Issued”. What does this mean?
This voter requested and was issued a ballot by mail.
A voter presents her driver’s license as ID and you notice that it expired 9 months ago. Is this a valid ID?
Yes. It is valid if it has expired within the preceding 12 months.
