What unit is current measured?

Amperes (A)

100

What unit is Voltage measured?

Volts (v)

The build up of charge is known as _______

Static Electricity

100

Electric current of 60mA is equivalent to ____A

0.06A

100

Mr Yap has been teaching for how many years?

2-3 years

True or False: A systematic error is due to the incorrect use or limitations of equipment used in a practical activity.

True

200

Electric cars will eventually cause pollution. True of False

True. They will indirectly cause some pollution due to power generation used to recharge batteries.

200

True or False: Batteries can transform kinetic energy to electrical energy.

False

A 6V battery is connected in a parallel circuit connected with 4 globes (each also in parallel).

What is the voltage of each globe?

6V

200

Mr Yap's favourite AFL team is?

West Coast Eagles

An ammetre is connected in ________

Series

300

Lights in a house are connected in series or parallel?

Parallel

300

Are conductors or insulators good for an electric circuit?

Conductor.

300

Voltage in a circuit measures at 15V. A resistor is connected measuring 5ohms. How much current is flowing in this circuit?

3A

300

What church does Mr Yap attend?

City on a hill

400

A globe represents what in a circuit?

a load

400

What are turbines and how do they work?

Turbines are large, fan-like blades. The fan-like blades rotate coils of wire rapidly inside huge electromagnets. The motion of the coils in the magnetic field produces a large electric current.

400

In a Series Circuit, the current is (shared/constant), the voltage is (shared/constant).

current is constant and voltage is shared

A battery supplying 10V in a circuit is connected to two connected globes. The current flowing through the circuit is 500mA. Calculate the resistance of one globe.

R= V/I

R=10V/0.5A

R=20ohms

So one globe 20/2 = 10ohms each globe

How old is Adelaide? (months)

16

500

In a parallel circuit, 5 globes are connected. Globe A is connected right after the battery. Globe B and C are connected in series after it, and globes D and E are connected parallel to B and C.

If globe was to burn out, which of the globes would still light up?

None.

500

Draw a circuit that includes 2 globes in parallel.

Add switches to show how you can turn one globe on and not the other.

Name the 5 parts of a dry cell.
1. ______ Terminal
2. ______ of chemicals
3. ______ Rod
4. ______ Case
5. ______ Terminal

1. Positive Terminal
2. Paste of chemicals
3. Carbon Rod
4. Zinc Case
5. Negative Terminal

500

An 8V cell is connected in a series circuit. The current flowing in this circuit is 800mA.

Calculate the resistance of a resistor, if a 4V cell was added to the circuit?

R=V/I

R=(8+4)/0.8

R=15ohms
