Describe the difference between a parallel and series circuit

Parallel -

1) Series Circuits

Description: In a series circuit, electricity has only one path to follow. All parts are connected to one another. Electrons flow from the negative side of the battery around in a loop to the positive side.

1 path for electric current to flow

2) Parallel Circuits:

Description: In a parallel circuit, electricity has more than one path to follow. Electrons can follow different paths as they flow from the negative side of the battery to the positive side.

More than one path for electric current to flow
