What is magnetism?
Force created by magnets when they attract or repel.
What is a bar magnet?
A magnet with a bar shape and magnetic poles at both ends.
How are conductors and insulators different?
Conductors allows heat to be transferred, while insulators do not.
Why do magnets repel and attract?
Magnets repel due to the same pole, but they attract due to opposite poles. (Opposites will attract and likes will repel)
What are some of the differences between a magnet and magnetic materials?
A magnet can repel and attract, while magnetic materials can only attract.
How are electricity and magnetism connected?
They involve the attraction and repulsion between charged particles.
Why do some things cling?
One item loses some of its electrons to the other item.
How do magnets attract materials through non-magnetic surfaces?
Its magnetic field extends beyond the magnet itself.
How does a basic electric circuit work?
An electric circuit has to have a power source, wires for the electricity to flow through, and a motor that uses the electric current.
How can one describe how size and distance affects the strength of magnetic forces that exist surrounding charges?
If distance increases magnetic force decreases and if distance decreases magnetic force increases.
