Although it can cause irritation, it's used in pools to keep the water clean

The building block of life. To be a living thing it must have this. Put enough pressure on it and you get a diamond.

Also considered quite valuable, it is also the best conductor of electricity

Also radioactive and used in nuclear power plants and weapons. This is the one the baby from the TV Show "Family Guy" is obsessed with.
Plutonium
Widely used for things like lithium batteries. It is mined in the Congo in Africa. Mostly known for it's help in making magnets.
Cobalt
The lightest gas. Makes a balloon float because it's lighter than air. Also makes your voice go really high if you breathe it in.
Helium
Considered a strong metal, indeed a famous superhero is named after it. However, it rusts easily by itself, so other elements are added to it to make steel
Iron
Toxic metal that pencils used to be made from. Extremely useful and before we know how toxic it was it was used in many things - like paint and water pipes.
Lead
Highly toxic element used in rat poison.
Arsenic
Often found in computer microchips and electronics. Famously gives the nickname to the hi-tech hot spot in California.
Silicon
The smallest, simplest, and most abundant element on Earth. People are even making cars than run on this instead of gasoline or electricity. Combines with oxygen to form what allows you to swim and go on boats.

Copper
Extremely strong metal that is incredible resistant to heat and melting. Used to make things like airplane wings and spaceships.
Titanium
A deadly liquid that is used in thermometers.
Mercury
Used to make rechargeable batteries.
Lithium
This is an important part of fertilizer, which helps plants grow faster and better. In liquid form it used in laboratories for storing things like cells, because it can keep a really cold temperature.
Nitrogen
The name of one of the American Money Coins. Because it is very bendable, strong, and resistant to heat, it is very useful for making things like wires.
Nickel
Very shiny silver metal that is often used to make things like "nicer." People often put use it on their car wheels (hub caps) to make them shine and look better
Chromium
A smelly gas. It's why onions make you cry, asparagus makes your urine smell, and rotten eggs smell.
The reddish yellow substance that doctors rub on your skin to disinfect wounds. You can also take it as a pill or tablet.
