What is dialogue?
A play has two of these, which typically includes a 15 minute break in between.
What is an act?
Items the actor(s) Or actress(es) hold or use to add detail to the scene
What is a prop?
There are 5 of these per act, with a 15 intermission in between.
What is a scene?
A long speech given by a single character, provides private thoughts and emotions.
What is a monologue?
Tells who the characters are, usually formed in order of appearance.
What is a cast list?
A character on stage in which provides the audience with information about who or what is happening
(e.g —> Jacob Marley)
What is a narrator?
Written in a script to tell the actor(s) / actress(es) what to do or who to talk to. Usually written in italics or parenthesis.
What is a stage direction?
A singular character speaks to themselves, or the audience, but others around within the scene do not hear them.
What is an aside?
Written into the script to make sound to further give description to the show.
