The repetition of a consonant sound at the beginning of a series of words.
What is alliteration?
The written history o a person's life.
What is a biography?
The atmosphere or feelings created by a work of literature
What is mood?
A character who is well-developed enough that the reader can identify his or her personality and physical and emotional traits
What is a round character?
The occurrence of the opposite of what is expected.
What is irony?
Is the rhythm of stressed and unstressed syllables in each line of a poem.
What is a meter?
A brief story with a moral message that often includes animals as characters.
What is a fable?
A character who is changed by the actions and experiences in the story.
What is dynamic character?
The character or force against which the main character struggles in a literary work
What is an antagonist?
Is the person or persons who will read or hear the literary work.
What is an audience?
How the words flow when they are linked with one another in a poem?
What is rhythm?
A humorous literary work, such as a play, having a happy ending
What is a comedy?
A series of events that happen in a literary work.
What is a tragedy?
The methods used to show the personalities of the characters in a literary work
What is direct characterization?
Hints or clues given to suggest what will happen later in the story
What is foreshadowing?
A poem that conveys a speaker's personal emotions or thoughts. This poem is often found in a musical.
