Cognitive referencing is not permissible as the only criteria for determining this eligibility.
Speech-Language Impairment
This eligibility includes an inability to build or maintain satisfactory interpersonal relationships with peers and/or teachers. For preschool-age children, this would include other care providers.
Emotional and Behavioral Disorder
For eligibility, children can NOT function lower that the criteria outlined for mild intellectual disability.
Orthopedic Impairment
Autism does not apply if a child’s educational performance is adversely affected primarily because the child has this eligibility.
Emotional Behavioral Disorder
This law applied to all children ages 3 – 21.
Free Appropriate Public Education
If the WISC-V measures IQ at 42, this is the most likely eligibility (Be very specific)
Moderate Intellectual Disability
This eligibility is for delays in young children that without special intervention may adversely affect age appropriate educational activities.
Significant Developmental Delay
This eligibility requires that a written summary of at least one structured observation that demonstrates the child’s inability to progress.
Intellectual Disability
Intellectual disabilities, Emotional disturbances are exclusionary factors for this eligibility.
Other Health Impairment
LEA’s must provide access to many things, however they can never mandate that a parent use this.
