What are the three steps to a code yellow?
Code yellow is missing resident/person
1) Floor rounds. ( ask co workers, check every rooms on the floor, Inform nurse)
2) Building rounds ( Page the whole building, All staff actively check every rooms on the floor and building)
3) Call 9-1-1. Inform family.
If there is a code blue; Do i automatically provide CPR?
No. Begin CPR only when clinically indicated on Resident Goals of care and on MOST.
What should i do when i hear the fire alarm?
1) Safely stop what i am doing.
2) Meet the team at nursing station. Listen and action Nurse's Instructions
-guard exit doors.
-Check rooms, close windows and doors. ( Reg tag up: Room checked and empty, Red tag down: Room checked but resident inside)
-Evacuate if needed
-Reassure and notify residents and family
-take fire extinguisher to fire

When an explosive device is suspected in the building:
1) Call 9-1-1, inform about a possible bomb threat, and provide as much details as possible.
2) Co worker will notify the management team and charge nurse about a code black
3) Remain calm. Do not touch suspicious package. Evacuate discreetly the vicinity.
