4, for a total of 324 mg

100
How many Jaffrey valves are currently on 313

One, one is out of service. Officer side is currently capped.

200

Explain the steps to follow per your protocol immediately after delivering a child

-Clamp

-Cover

-Warm

-Only suction if stimulated and infant is still not breathing spontaneously or crying vigorously

200

What does Glucagon do

signals liver to release glucose, IM injection

200

Should we be performing continuous ventilations on a patient that has an oral airway in

Explain how to assess a patient with a Total Artificial Heart to determine whether or not they need CPR (and if we perform CPR on them).

Refer to protocol

300

(I know we don't have glucometers) What blood sugar are we looking for to administer glucose per our protocol?

Below 60 mg/dL

300

With an advanced airway, what rate should we be ventilating a patient at

1 breath every 6 seconds

300

What SPO2 level do we need to intervene at?

(Can also use to manage other signs of dyspnea)

300

....... So what are we calling that red pickup truck now

301

400

Explain how to assess a patient with a Ventricular Assist Device to determine whether or not they need CPR (and if we perform CPR on them).

Refer to protocol

400

What are some signs of hyperglycemia?

-Gradual Onset

-Kussmaul respirations

-Fruity/acetone breath

400

When do we perform CPR on an infant

Pulseless OR HR less than 60 with hypoperfusion

400

How many total doses of Narcan can we administer per standing protocol

2

400

-Rigor Mortis

-Dependent Lividity

-Injury not compatible with life (eg decapitation, burned beyond recognition)

-Submerged in water greater than 1 hour

500

What are Kussmaul respirations and why do diabetics experience them

Deep, rapid, labored.

Body can't use the sugar in the bloodstream due to problem with the insulin. Body burns fats instead as an emergency backup, that produces ketones which are acidic. Body recognizes the acidity of the blood and initiates the deep respirations, attempting to "blow off" CO2 and reduce acidity of the blood

500

What are the two methods of performing CPR on an infant

-Two-thumb encircling Hands

-Heel of One Hand

500
