Which is the better counter argument?
A. Animal cliches, right or wrong, are the mementos of a time when we knew far less about wildlife than we do now. In many cases the phrases are what remains of long ago beliefs that were mistaken ideas. Yet, we still keep using them because a "leopard never changes it's spots."
B. It is quite fun to use animal cliches, despite the fact that many of the phrases are remains of mistaken beliefs about animals. One might suggest that a "leopard can't change it's spots" and these cliches are here to stay. However, scientific knowledge has undermined so many of the phrases, that the cliches no longer serve their purpose outside of comic relief. Additionally, by continuing to use them, you could easily confuse your audience if they are foreign to our country and have a fairly decent knowledge of science.
What is B. It isn't clear that A is a counter argument depsite being worded well. B, however, is clearly making an argument on why we should continue to use out of date animal cliches by shooting down the reasons people still use them.
