Are scientist who study our world and how the living and nonliving things in our world interconnect?
Ecologist
What is a herbivore?
They only eat producers (plants, grasses, berries). They are also the largest group of consumers.
What is the rising and falling of the ocean water against the shore called?
Hint-the water is high on the shoreline and low on the shoreline different times of the day. It is caused by the gravitational pull of the moon and sun.
Tide
The branch of science that focuses on the atmosphere, weather, and weather forecasting.
Meteorology
Does water or land heat up faster?
Land
A species that is critical to the survival of many other species.
*Bonus* 100 extra points if you can name one.
Keystone Species
What is an omnivore?
They have the most diverse diet they typically feed on plants and small insects or animals.
An ectothermic, "Eco" meaning environment "thermic " meaning temperature.
What does it mean if I say an animal takes on their ectothermic environment.
Please give an animal when describing
ex. Sea turtles body temperatures will be the same as their environment.
What type of clouds are storm clouds?
Cumulonimbus
When molecules heat up, do they move faster and expand, or do they slow down and contract?
Move faster and expand
This is the largest Marine Biome with incredible variety in features, depth, and organisms. It covers 70% of the EARTH.
What is a carnivore?
They are predators that hunt for their foods. They eat meat.
What is the largest class of Marine Vertebrates?
Fish
What is any liquid or frozen water that comes from a cloud called?

Is a relationship in which one organism benefits by living on or in another organism. It's known as a host.
Parasitism
When two organisms have a relationship in which at least one organism benefits, it is known as what?
Symbiotic Relationship
Sharks are not made of bones. What are they made of?
Cartilage
During a storm, fast-moving air blows around the cloud in updrafts and downdrafts. Water droplets blow rapidly in the cloud bumping into each other as they go. This creates and electric charge. Positive charges accumulate in the top of the cloud. Negative charges accumulate towards the bottom. When these charges in the cloud connect inside a cloud or on earth, what happens?
Lightning
What are wells of water that dissolve the earth, eventually leaving behind a thin layer of limestone. When the remaining limestone is worn away, the openings are exposed to air.
Hint - you will find in Mexico
Cenotes (sin-O-tays)

What are nonliving things called?
Biotic-living
Abiotic-non living
Is a relationship in which both organism's benefit?
It is mutualism
The majority of marine life inhabits the upper layers of the ocean where the rays of light are brighter. What zone of the ocean is this?
intertidal
What would a tropical cyclone be called in Florida?

Because of their geographic location.
Explain to me how the water cycle works. I need to have a three main vocabulary keywords.
If you can name all 4, and explain you get an additional 100 pts,
start- evaporation/transpiration (from plants)-condensation, and precipitation.
evaporation occurs when heat changes liquid water into water vapor. Plants absorb moisture in their leaves. The water vapor leaves through small pores through transpiration. The water vapors from both evaporation/transpirations go up to the cloud and the water droplets make the cloud heavy and large. Gravity then pulls the water droplets down and that is precipitation.
