What does a food chain show?
How energy is transfered from the sun to a producer through various consumers
What is a physical change?
When matter changes but does not create a new substance. For instance, a physical change is the coke and mentos experiment or the boiling of water.
Can particles be seen with the naked eye? Why not?
They are too small
What does a filter usually seperate?
Liquids and solids or gases and solids
What is a food web?
Shows how different food chains are interconnected
How can we change experiments?
By refining them, looking at what worked and what we could do better
Describe the movement of particles.
Solid: No movement and connected
Liquid: Movement but slow.
Gas: Fast movement
Examples of a filter and what it does
Coffee filter, air filter, water filter
What is the strongest predator within a food web? (Hint: Nothing eats this consumer)
Apex Predator
What is a chemical change?
When there is a change where there is a new substance created from that change. For instance: Burning wood, rotting fruit, souring of milk

What is an independent variable?
The only thing we change during the experiment.
I add a spoonful of salt to water and mix it together. After a few minutes, Mr. Johnson can't see the salt. What happened?
The salt broke down into smaller pieces (IE they dissolved)
If I put metal shavings into sugar, what would be the best way to seperate those two substances in a pot of water?
A magnet
What did Newton say about energy?
Cannot be created nor destroyed, only transferred
What is a dependent variable?
What we view/the change we measure
