What is the main fuel source of the ATP/PC system?

The stores of ATP in the muscle

100

What is the duration of the lactate system?

30 sec - 3min depending on the intensity

100

How efficient is Aerobic system in producing ATP

It is very efficient how ever it is not very fast

100

True of False - Hot water will turn into ice faster then cold water?

True

200

Give 3 examples of sports where ATP/PC is the main system

Various but may include
- 100m sprint
- 50m freestyle
- Long jump

200

What is the cause of fatigue in the lactate system?

The build up of acid, in particular the build up of H+.
Meaning it has been create faster then it can be removed. This causes the muscle to become acidic and not be able to function properly

The aerobic system is the main source of fuel for most team sports? True of False? why?

True, because it lasts more then 3 minutes

200

How many legs does a lobster have?

10

300

How long does recovery take in the ATP/PC system?

about 2 minutes but it is half replaced in 30seconds

300

What is the source of fuel for the lactate system and what is the process called?

Glycogen is the fuel source. The breakdown of glycogen to ATP is called glycolysis.

300

What is the by-product of the Aerobic system and how is it removed?

Water and carbon dioxide are the by-products. Water is usually removed through sweating and carbon dioxide by exhaling.

300

In inches, how big is the diameter of a basketball hoop?

18

400

Do you get sore when working in the ATP/PC system? Why/why not?

No, because there are no by-products (other then heat) such as acid and the effort is not long enough to cause damage to the muscle cells.

400

What is the process of recovery for the lactate system?

If there is oxygen the by-products(pyruvic acid) can be converted back into ATP. (Through the kreb cycle).
If no oxygen, lactate acid needs to go back to the liver to be converted to glycogen.

400

How long does the aerobic system take to recover? and why?

It can take between 12 and 48 hours. Because the process involves replenishing stores such as glycogen, this can only be done through digestion of food.

400

Which country was the first to use paper money?

China

What is a single stand of spaghetti called?
