What is Pathos?
An issue, problem, or situation that causes or prompts someone to write or speak. The situation the rhetor is responding to.
What is Exigence?

What is racial violence, systemic racism, police brutality, general political corruption
The intent that the speaker has for their text, including what effect they want it to have on their audience(s).
