Provide a definition of:
Geosphere
Hydrosphere
Atmosphere
Biosphere
Geosphere: All material on Earth's surface. Parts can be added to the Geosphere when it lands on the ground.
Hydrosphere: All water that is on, above, or below Earth's Surface.
Atmosphere: A thin layer of gases that surround the Earth, causes wind.
Biosphere: All living creatures on Earth.
Humans
Describe an interaction between the Hydrosphere and Biosphere.
How are humans causing this problem?
Littering, Human made machinery (sewer systems, garbage trucks, etc.)
Describe an interaction between the Biosphere and the Geosphere.
EXAMPLE: A human being drops a snickers wrapper at Memorial Park and leaves it in the grass.
The Geosphere, Hydrosphere, Atmosphere, and Biosphere INTERACT with each other to move plastic to ocean ecosystems.
Describe an interaction between the Atmosphere and the Hydrosphere.
A Giant shopping bag is pushed from the parking lot by the wind into the White Clay Creek.
What ecosystems are most affected by the plastic pollution problem?
Ocean ecosystems
Describe an interaction between the Geosphere and Hydrosphere.
Water from a thunderstorm has picked up a plastic bead from the ground and pushes it into the sewer system.
How could your solution act as one of Earth's Systems components to protect ocean ecosystems from plastic pollution?
(Mr. Voelker will determine if your explanation is correct)
