The 26th Amendment allows citizens to vote from the age of 18, allowing the youth a voice in who their elected officials will be. American citizens should be required to vote in the national elections because it impacts your everyday life such as how much resources will your local schools receive, how much access to healthcare will you have, how much job security and pay equity you receive and more. Another reason why American citizens should be required to vote is because you have a say in where your tax dollars are allocated. It is important to exercise your right to vote for the sake of your future.

The central idea of the poem The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost is the journey of life. The central idea of the journey of life can be identified in the passage when Frost says, "And sorry I could not travel both, and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could To where is bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear." This quote means that Frost is presented with two roads and he is apologetic that he cannot take both roads. In life, one may be presented with many situations where one option seems better than the other. Regret is an emotion that is persistent in how we view our lives and our choices, but that is part of the journey of life. You make choices that you are proud of or regret, but in the end you experienced something that you learn from no matter what the outcome may be.
