If primary colors cannot be mixed using any other colors, where do they come from?
Primary colored paints come from crushing compounds that are primary colored. These used to be natural -cochineal (variation of red), for example, comes from beetle shell. Iron oxide has been used to make red too. Today, many of the pigments used in paints are synthetic/chemical compounds.
