What are the two main groups into which cells are classified?
Cells can be classified as Eukaryotic or prokaryotic.
100
How does cells reproduce
Eukaryotic cell division either involves mitosis or a more complex process called meiosis

Each muscle fibre ("muscle cell") is covered by a plasma membrane sheath which is called the
Sarcolemma
100
What is all organism made of?
A cell
200
What is the difference between a plasma membrane and a cell wall?
A plasma membrane and a cell wall are not the same thing. The plasma membrane, also called the cell membrane, is the outer membrane common to all living cells, made of a phospholipid bilayer, embedded proteins and some bound carbohydrates.

sub-phase of interphase; when histones peak and there is a duplication of DNA
S Phase

The cell membrane of a muscle fiber is called...........? (a) plasmalemma (b) sarcolemma (c) myolemma (d) sarcomere
B. Sarcolemma

Cytoplasm is present in all living cells. The cytoplasm present is muscle fibres (muscle cells) is called.
Sarcoplasm

What is Single celled organisms with no nucleus or membrane bound organelles?
Prokaryotes
300
What is a Function of a cell membrane
Cell Membrane is a cells security system, surrounds and protects the cell, controls what enters and exits the cell
300
Name the six Stages of Mitosis
prophase,metaphase, anaphase, telophase and cytokinesis

Muscles that contain multiple nuclei located peripherally within the cell would be........ (a) skeletal muscle cells only (b) single unit smooth muscle cells (c) multiunit smooth muscle cells (d) cardiac muscle cells only (e) both skeletal and cardiac muscle cells
A.Skeletal Muscle cells only
300
What also present in the sarcoplasm of muscle fibres/cells. This is a reddish pigment that not only results in the distinctive color of skeletal muscle, but also stores oxygen - until it is required by the mitochondria for the production of ATP.
Myoglobin

What is cells with a nucleus and membrane-bound organelles?
Eukaryote
400
cytoplasm
gel-like substance inside the cell, where cell processes (chemical reactions) occur, 80% water

How does organelles in the cell help to keep the cell healthy
These organelles are like the organs in a human and they help the cell stay alive. Each organelle has it’s own specific function to help the cell survive. The nucleus of a eukaryotic cell directs the cell’s activities and stores DNA. Eukaryotes also have a golgi apparatus that packages and distributes proteins. Mitochondria are the power house of the cell and provide the cell with energy. Both plant and animal cells have mitochondria. Lysosomes are like the stomach of the cell. They contain enzymes that digest the cell’s used parts. All of the cell’s organelles must work together to keep the cell healthy.

Which of the following is the smallest unit? (a) myofilament (b) myofibril (c) fascicle (d) motor unit.
A. myofilament
400
Sarcoplasmic reticulum is a network of membrane-enclosed tubules similar to ...............
smooth endoplasmic reticulum (SER)
400
Goes through a reproduce cycle called
Mitosis
500
What is a function of a nucleus?
A nucleus is a control center of the cell, contains directions for the entire cell, DNA is found here, surrounded by a nuclear membrane
500
How does the organelle regulates the cells need?
Organelles are small and function much like organs function in a large organism. Some organelles are responsible for gathering cell energy, others for controlling cell activities. Plant cells have different organelles than animal cells but also share many also. They all have a large variety of sizes and functions and make life as we know if possible

Which of the following muscles have T-tubules: (a) smooth/cardiac (b) cardiac/skeletal (c) skeletal/smooth
B.Cardiac/Skeletal
