If your parents claim you and you are claiming their health insurance you are a dependent and cannot file financial aid as an independent.

What is Earned Family Contribution. This is what a formula determines that your family will contribute for college. The gov. then takes that number to determine how much aid they will give you. EFC is determined off of your parents income taxes.

What is "like she wants to slap someone silly...." The scholarship distribution has a lot to do with the amount of students who apply for each. You will never truly know if you get a scholarship unless you apply for it. Don't come near me and say that...you may get slapped.
