What is this connection/cable type? (Show photo 1)
XLR
What is an input?
A channel input jack or connection on a mixing desk or piece of audio equipment, where a sound source can be connected (e.g. Microphone, electric guitar etc.)
What type of connection/cable is this? (Photo 2)
5 pin dmx
Which organisation regulates workplace health and safety in NSW?

What are Barn Doors?
Metal sheets attached to lighting fixtures which allow for the control of lighting beam direction.
Why type of cable is used to connect a guitar to a guitar amplifier?
1/4 inch jack
What is the difference between powered (active) and non powered (passive) speakers?
Powered speakers have an amp in the speaker unit, while un-powered do not and require a separate amplifier to power them
What type of lighting fixture was invented by a Frenchman and is commonly used as a wash light?
Fresnel
What is intellectual property?

What is 1 possible reason for a the output of a channel (for example a microphone output) having lots of noise?
I connect:
1 x 1000 watt Fresnel
4 x 350 watt Profile
to a patch.
Will this overload the circuit?
No as it is equal to but does not go over 2400 watts which is the circuit limit.
What is duty of care? And who has a legal responsibility for this on a construction site?
Doing everything reasonably possible to protect yourself and others from harm. Everyone involved in a construction site has a responsibility.
What is 1 advantage of LED fixtures for production purposes? What is one environmental advantage?
They consume less energy which allows more fixtures to be connected to each circuit. They also reduce running costs for productions and venues. As they use less electricity they are better for the planet.
What is the difference between an unbalanced and a balanced cable?
A balanced cable has an 1 wire more than an unbalanced cable, which is used to eliminate noise picked up along the length of the cable. This is done through the flipping, and re-flipping of the polarity.
An unbalanced cable does not have this, and as a result, long cable runs will result in lots of noise in the signal
What does a DI box do?
turns an unbalanced signal into a balanced signal, with a signal strength suited to be connected to a mixing console
What is a common use of a profile light? and what are one of its unique features?
Give 3 examples of how duty of care can be maintained in the workplace
Setting Up and Using Equipment Safely
Follow the Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS)
Carry out regular risk assessments when putting on productions, whether it be rehearsals or shows, to eliminate or reduce hazards.
How would you send signal from an individual channel to an onstage monitor, using a mixing console?
You would find the given channel and turn up the Aux send of that channel that matches the monitor speaker required.
